Friendly staff & decent prices. Almost always stop here when I'm in Washington...usually after an Imo's run.
They have a large selection of items, but unfortunately did not carry spring roll wrappers, yet all the ingredients to make lumpish
I'm a vegan. Schnucks offers a wide variety of vegan meals. Did I mention I am vegan? I don't eat meat. Anyway, yeah, Schnucks does a good job catering to the vegan crowd (including myself). They have a whole supermarket area dedicated to vegan alternatives to meat, like vegan meals, vegetables, and fruits. Bok choy, carrots, onions, lettuce, watermelons, grapes, and cabbage are just a few of the many vegan friendly meals offered by Schnucks. Funny story, while I was going through the vegan section looking for vegan hamburgers, the evil vegan demon began speaking to me telepathically telling me to free the 27 lobsters being held captive at the meat department. I bought all the lobsters and set them free in the Missouri river in the middle of January! I'm happy to be a vegan.
numerous times we've been in this store when only one or two registers have been open, regardless of the fact that people with full carts have been queued up back into the aisles. When this has been brought up to management's attention (shouldn't this be their job to monitor?) we get the deer-in-the-headlights look. There is constantly a shortage of staff in this store...often a human scavenger hunt to find someone to wait on you at the seafood department. Today there was ONE register open for plus-twenty item customers, so that line went halfway up a food aisle while checkers at the twenty-or-less registers stood by watching. Our $700 a month grocery bill is moving elsewhere.
Usually I am pleased with shopping at Schnucks in Washington. The only complaint I ever have is with the person who sacks my groceries. Today it was canned goods packed too heavy and no double bags. Difficult for me to carry into my home while the bag is tearing
