Rueben & calamari were amazing. Great beer selection. Fish n Chips...not so much.
The Old Dutch Tavern is one of our favorite places to eat. You cannot go wrong at lunch or dinner. The food is wonderful and the chef is creative. All wait staff are awesome! I would highly recommend that everyone go here at least once.

Do yourself a favor and stay here. Our room was simple, clean, and very well maintained. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. Only three blocks from the river, all of downtown Washington is easily walkable from here. The breakfast was very light, but honestly you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not walking down the street to Cowans anyway. There is a tavern/restaurant on the first floor. Stop in. Street parking is your only option, unless the nearby school is out of session, in which case you can park in their lot. There always looked to be plenty of close parking. Take advantage of this hidden gem. You won't regret it.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Very friendly staff - our waitress suggested a great beer and the fried chicken sandwich special was fantastic. Manager come over and gave us a map and some local info of the antique stores downtown which was very helpful. Definitely making this a regular stop when we're back in the area.
