The french toast is my favorite!
Service was awful, food was bland, part of our order was missing and we were done with everything else before we had to remind the waitress to bring it. We won't be going back! If you are looking for good breakfast in Washington, head for Franklin's!
I go here frequently for breakfast with my toddler and baby. I've never had to wait to he seated (I go during the week between 8-10). My food has always come out and hot and within a reasonable time. The servers always seem to be in good moods, hospitable, and attentative to their customers. Plus, the food is cheap for a sit-down restaurant. The restaurant is clean and well maintained.
Great experience! This wasn't even because of the food, which was good, but it was because of our server. I think she said her name was Mercy. She was so adorable and very charming. Great waitress! I would go back just because she put in the extra effort to make sure my table had the best experience possible. She brought out my food hot, with never ending beverages and breads. Very sweet girl, I would go back just for her.
Food was not very good at all half of it was burnt . Service was not the greatest either had to get up to get my own refill. The waitress did get a little friendlier towards the end but probably will never go back. Definitely not $50 worth of food.
This place is slightly hit or miss according to how good your service is. When it is very crowded, the service is, frankly, below average. When it is empty, the service can either be below average or excellent. When it is slightly busy, the service is usually outstanding. The coffee is good. The menu items are all pretty reliable, except don't order the "3 cornbread" item, which is just a horribly fried mush of a corn sludge. It is not cornbread. The omelettes are all very good. The skillets are all good. The other breakfast items are all reliably good. The lunch and dinner items are all pretty good. They have a good selection of pies for dessert.
